Passover Kugel recipe

Everybody's Grandmother has a Kugel recipe this is my variation with a twist. It has
a sweet/savory flavor.

Butternut squash, marshmallow, Kugel topped with Goat cheese

2 cups shredded butternut squash, peel squash.
1 16 oz bag of mini marshmallows
1 16 oz bag of egg noodles
6 eggs
1 log of Chevre goat cheese-sliced
8 oz sour creme
8 oz soft-creme cheese
8 oz cottage cheese
1 cup rasins

Pre-heat oven to 375, cook noodles in salted boiling water. In a large bowl
mix eggs, creme cheese, sour creme, cottage cheese, marshmallows, rasins
and squash. Drain noodles, add to bowl while still hot, mix well. Grease
a casserole dish. Pour mixture into dish, place sliced goat on top. Cook
for 30-40 minutes, serves 8-10

Life being a tall chef

Being a 7ft tall chef, has not been easy, especially since my high school days. However, I have had a rich and rewarding career. The expectation in high school, since I grew to be 7ft tall senior year and 4 inches every year in high school, was too play sports. Well, I choose to piss off my coaches and not play basketball. My father influenced me to become a chef in high school, as he is a retired chef from Amtrak. Working in a kitchen has it's challenges, and I will write about those challenges soon. Happy New Year.

Food mememories

Food memories of the past. Does anyone remember these great restaurants around the Chicagoland area, some are no longer with us, some are still here. White fence Farm in Lemont, IL. For it's signature fried chicken, to the petting zoo, the antique game room, what a fun place that was in my youth. Even more fun was the first indoor theme park Old Chicago, which is no longer with us. How about Kilarny's Castle around 103rd st on Rosemore and Pullman. They had this green scary dragon that would come out and scare me at the restaurant. How about Rosewood West in Crestwood, with its full service restaurant now only does catering. Cal's Roast beef in Dolton, IL, not to be confused with the Arby's chain. This place was much better. Anyone remember The Tropical Hut in the Chicago area. A cheesy fun restaurant. How about The Ground Round with it's massive burgers and fresh popcorn in Matteson, IL. The Cattle Company with it's great steaks in Matteson, IL, as well. Many a great food memories, some more clear than others, as I have just turned 40. Stay tuned for more from Chef Jeff.
